| Content | Reisen sind ein zentraler Teil der menschlichen Erfahrung. Wir alles machen Reisen, und manche Gesellschaften glauben, dass, das Leben selbst eine Reise ist. Gleichzeitig, sind Reisen komplexe Realitäten, die viele Akteure, Werkzeuge, und Dimensionen einbeziehen können. Deshalb sind Reisen auch ein perfekter Schlüssel, um verschiedene Zivilisationen zu erforschen. Aber wie war das Reisen im Alten Ägypten? In diesem Seminar werden wir das Reisen benutzen, um verschiedene Aspekte des Alten Ägypten zu entdecken. Dabei gehen wir von Fragen aus wie: wer reiste in Ägypten? Wie, wohin, und warum? --- Travel is a central part of the human experience. We all undertake journeys, and some societies believe that life itself is a journey. At the same time, journeys are complex realities that can involve many actors, tools, and dimensions. For this reason, journeys also provide a perfect key to exploring different civilizations. But what was travel like in Ancient Egypt? In this seminar, we will use travel as a way to discover different aspects of Ancient Egypt. We will do so by asking questions such as: Who travelled in Egypt? How, where to, and why? |
| Learning objectives | Das wichtigste methodologische Ziel ist es zu lernen, wie man ein soziales Phänomen wie das Reisen als eine Lupe verwenden kann, um eine alte Gesellschaft zu erforschen. Durch die Vorbereitung ihrer Präsentationen werden die Studierenden auch verschiedene Aspekte des Lebens im Alten Ägypten entdecken. --- The most important methodological goal is to learn how one can use a social phenomenon such as travelling as a magnifying glass to explore an ancient society. Through the preparation of their presentations, the students will also discover different aspects of life in Ancient Egypt. |
