| Content | This course explores how current research grounded in Africa decenters the perspectives from which we understand knowledge production in urban studies, history, anthropology, and related fields. The course format facilitates in-depth engagement with an invited scholar’s research-in-progress, and through it, a discussion of theoretical and methodological approaches amongst the participants. Programme: Introduction, 25. September, 12-14 Stephanie Zehnle, University of Passau, 23. October, 12-18 Michelle Moyd, Michigan State University, 6. November, 12-18 Aymar Bisoka, Université de Mons, 13. November, 12-18 Kenny Cupers, Marie Muschalek, Julia Tischler, 11. Dezember, 12-18 The course is structured around four workshops (Fridays, 12-16) with different scholars as guests. Workshops with guest scholars are followed by a public lecture (Fridays, 16-18) and get-together. |
