Content | This course is dedicated to reading and analysing a selection of texts discussed in the introductory lecture "Theorien und Methoden der Literaturwissenschaft" (22059-01). |
Learning objectives | Participants will practise and learn how to read theoretical texts, place literary texts in the context of literary theories, compare different theoretical arguments and begin to develop arguments of their own. |
Bibliography | The tutorial will draw on the reading material made available in the context of the survey lecture. |
Comments | This is primarily a methodological course; emphasis is put on the skills necessary for dealing with theoretical texts. |
Admission requirements | The tutorial is part of the one-year course "Introduction to Literature and Culture Studies", and it is open to all students who have attended the first semester of this introductory course. The tutorial must be attended in conjunction with the lecture "Theorien und Methoden der Literaturwissenschaft" (22059-01). |
Course application | Students are asked to put down their name on one of the four lists with the parallel courses which will be posted on the main notice-board of the Department of English (2nd floor, rear building) one week before the beginning of term. (The first meetings will take place in the second week of term.) |
