| Content | Il corso intende presentare e approfondire il concetto di progressione tematica («thematic progression») elaborato nellambito della cosiddetta Scuola di Praga da Frantiek Dane attorno agli anni Settanta del secolo scorso. Esso si fonda sulle nozioni di Tema e di Rema, e intende cogliere una componente essenziale della coerenza del testo, il suo scheletro semantico: By this term [thematic progression] we mean the choice and ordering of utterances themes, their mutual concatenation and hierarchy, as well as their relationship to the hyperthemes of the superior text units (such as the paragraph, chapter, etc.), to the whole text, and to the situation. Thematic progression might be viewed as the skeleton of the plot. (Dane 1974: 114) Un primo gruppo di lezioni sarà dedicato alla comprensione della progressione tematica nella sua definizione originale. Nelle lezioni successive vedremo che tale definizione per poter essere davvero pertinente dal punto di vista teorico e applicabile anche a testi di una certa complessità necessita di un importante insieme di precisazioni, approfondimenti e correzioni. Ciò ci condurrà a ripensare i concetti di Tema e di Rema misurandoli con gli altri aspetti dellorganizzazione semantica della frase e del testo, e a costruire insieme una nuova definizione di progressione tematica. |
