26008-01 - Seminar: Reading / Writing the City (3 CP)

Content This seminar is geared at Liz and MA students, but advanced BA students who have completed their 2nd year (including the paper) are welcome, too. We will look at literary explorations of the city as well as theories of urban writing with a focus on postmodern depictions of London. The seminar can be attended in conjunction with the Research Colloquium "Cultural Topographies" (26010-01), and it is also a suitable course for the "Zertifizierung Kulturelle Topographien".
Learning objectives Students will improve their knowledge of theory and their skills in literary criticism with a view to developing independent research projects.
