43626-01 - Lecture with practical courses: Quantum Condensed Matter II 4 CP

Semester spring semester 2017
Course frequency Every spring sem.
Lecturers Jelena Klinovaja (jelena.klinovaja@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content The course is designed to provide a concise introduction to some of the core topics in the emerging field of topological band insulators in one and two dimensions. The aim is to provide a basic understanding of edge states, bulk topological invariants, Majorana fermions, and of the bulk--boundary correspondence with as simple mathematical tools as possible.
