Content The computer-based analysis of text is of pivotal importance for a variety of disciplines and research areas in the social sciences and humanities. Understanding social media or high-brow literature, twitter news or description of art works. This lecture is an introduction to the major theories, concepts and techniques, how to make use of computers to understand texts. It is mainly base on the tidy approach in R and includes practical exercises.
Learning objectives Students learn to use and to reflect on major text analysis approaches.
