Content | This course and the accompanying one (54105-01 Kolloquium: Introduction to Research) is designed to introduce students to "how to do economic research" and to provide feedback on students’ research projects. In this course, students will go through a series of exercises in which they will “pitch” their research idea to an audience, and receive feedback on their project. The main (but not only) component is a medium-length (45 minutes to 1 hour) seminar presentation of their research project. Presenters will receive detailed feedback on their research, as well as tips on presentation skills and on framing research papers. In addition to the other students enrolled in the course, all three course instructors (Andrei Levchenko, Nicola Pavoni, and Nicolas Ziebarth) will be present at the presentations to provide feedback. To take maximum advantage of the course, PhD students would ideally have an active ongoing research project that they would present. Both PhD students and postdocs are welcome. Students who have already participated in a previous year are welcome but credits will only be awarded once. |
