28843-01 - Proseminar: Virginia WOOLF 3 CP

Semester fall semester 2011
Course frequency Once only
Lecturers Therese Steffen (therese.steffen@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content Following the lecture courses on Modernism in the previous semester, this proseminar seeks to familiarize students with Virginia Woolf’s major texts, contexts and her experimental styles. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of an important modernist author and should start reading the texts before the proseminar.
Learning objectives Students exercise and expand the range of skills they have acquired in the first year. A more informed engagement with primary and critical texts will enable them to write their first (shorter) seminar paper at the end of the spring term and to make an informed decision regarding their further course of studies.
