Content "Fog over Channel - Continent isolated." This seminar is part of a research project on "Contemporary British Discourses of Europe" developed within the framework of the Centre of Competence 'Cultural Topographies'. The project is concerned with a wider range of representations in historiography, the media and various institutions. The seminar will deal with one section of the project, in which we will look at some examples of how fiction has negotiated British images of Europe in the Twentieth century and to the present day.
Learning objectives Students will further develop their competence in reading English fiction and discuss the role of literature in cultural politics.
