Content | This course is part of a compulsory one year course (module) and offers an introduction to the study of literature and culture. Details will be announced at the beginning of the semester. |
Learning objectives | Students will acquire the methodological tools for the analysis of literary texts. The course will focus on the three main genres (poetry, prose and drama) and introduce students to the practice of academic writing. |

These texts are available at the 'Labyrinth' bookshop (Nadelberg 17). In addition, a reader with all further required reading will be made available at the Repro-Flash copy shop (Mittlere Strasse 24) one week before the beginning of the semester. All texts must be purchased before the first meeting. |
Admission requirements | Open to 1st semester students. No preparation required. |
Course application | Students are required to enter their name and e-mail address on one of the four group lists which will be put up at the department (2nd floor, entrance hall) one week before the beginning of the semester. Places per group are limited. |
