Content In this course we will consider the work of the contemporary British novelist and essayist Tim Parks. We will be concentrating on his work as a novelist.
Learning objectives In-depth study of the novels of Tim Parks
Bibliography The following novels by Tim Parks are required for the course:
- "Goodness" (1991)
- "Destiny" (1999)
- "Rapids" (2005)
- "Dreams of Rivers and Seas" (2008)
- "The Server" (2012)
Please purchase the novels from the 'Labyrinth' bookstore, Nadelberg 17, Basel. If possible, please read the novels before the course begins.

 

Admission requirements For English majors who have successfully completed their second-year courses in Literature and Culture Studies (including the proseminar paper), and for others who have successfully completed an equivalent course of study in their fields.
