Lecturers Ina Habermann (ina.habermann@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content This research colloquium is part of a more extended project on "Cultural Topographies". We will continue our discussions of cultural constructions of space, this time with a focus on literary explorations of the English Channel as a liminal space between Britain and France where issues of national identity gain particular currency. The colloquium is recommended as a suitable course for the "Zertifizierung Kulturelle Topographien", and it is also specifically for students wishing to give the colloquium presentation required in the MA research skills module.
Learning objectives Students will widen their knowledge of spatial theory and practice as well as discourses of English identity and develop their skills in research as well as academic discussion and presentation.
