| Content | This training takes the form of a « data workshop » that aims at learning how to constitute and treat corpora of audio-visual data. Two fundamental aspects are covered by the workshop: data collection (audio & video) and data transcription. Data collection will be exemplified on the basis of a fieldwork experience, in which a corpus will be recorded: fieldwork preparation, ethical clearance, conception of the video device and technology for an adequate recording, actual recording, transfer, digitalization and editing of data will be demonstrated. Data transcription will concern both basic and advanced transcripts, verbal and multimodal, manual and computer-assisted (aligned) transcription. The workshop is organized in a series of modules devoted to the necessary skills for dealing with data. It is conceived for students preparing a seminar or a mémoire using authentic spoken and interactional data.
