Content The follwoing topics will be covered:
Making lasting memories

- Hormonal regulation of learning and memory processes
- Modulation of amygdala-hippocampal connectivity by emotional arousal
- Cannabinoids and memory for emotionally arousing experiences
- Traumatic memories and post-traumatic stress after critical illness: Role of glucocorticoid, catecholaminergic and endocannabinoid signaling
- Epigenetic modification of the glucocorticoid receptor gene linked to traumatic memory and PTSD
- Effects of cortisol on craving in heroin dependence.
Learning objectives To learn about basic mechanisms and clinical implications of stress effects on memory
