Learning objectives | Participants will engage with and learn how to read theoretical texts, place literary texts in the context of literary theories, compare different theoretical arguments and begin to develop arguments of their own. |
Bibliography | All texts will be made available on ADAM. Note that Jonathan Culler's "What is Theory?" must be read for the first meeting. |
Comments | This is primarily a methodological course; emphasis is put on the skills necessary for dealing with theoretical texts. Note that this course closely relates to Philipp Schweighauser's lecture course "Theory Survey I/II: Literary and Cultural Theory" (23062-01). |
