| Content | Francis Ponge (1899-1988) a marqué la poésie du vingtième siècle par son choix de consacrer son écriture aux objets les plus divers : orange, savon, crevette, bougie, morceau de pain, pluie, pré, figue, cigarette, etc. Il en résulte des petits textes en prose, souvent très amusants, qui soulèvent aussi de passionnantes questions sur l’esthétique et la nature du langage – ce qui explique la fascination que Ponge a exercée sur des philosophes comme Derrida. Comment un objet quotidien et prosaïque peut-il devenir « poétique » ? Une poésie privée d’intrigue et sans présence humaine forte nous touche-t-elle ? Peut-on inventer, comme le voulait Ponge, une forme, voire une « rhétorique », pour chaque chose ? Quelle est la portée critique de ces choix ? La poésie crée-t-elle ainsi un savoir inédit sur le monde ? Comment un texte nous montre-t-il qu’il est, lui aussi, une « chose » matérielle ? etc. Pour en juger, on privilégiera des micro-lectures attentives, en mettant l’accent sur un recueil particulier, Le Parti pris des choses (1942). |
