| Content | Madame Bovary (1857), qui fit l'objet d'un retentissant procès à sa parution, est devenu l'un des romans les plus célèbres de la littérature mondiale et un emblème du "réalisme". Pourtant Flaubert a insisté sur le caractère fictif de l'intrigue – le titre du cours est une de ses formules – et sur la valeur d'abord littéraire de son texte, livre sur "rien", qui ne tiendrait que par la force de son "style". Ces tensions entre valeur de quasi-document et volonté de mettre en action tous les potentiels esthétiques de la prose guideront notre lecture du roman, dont on tentera de comprendre les enjeux généraux tout en le soumettant à des micro-lectures serrées. |
