Content In this course, we will study six books of contemporary Anglophone poetry, one each by six authors.
Learning objectives In-depth study of the works under consideration.

Students should purchase copies of the books before the first session of the course. Copies will be available at the Labyrinth bookstore, Nadelberg 17, Basel.

A course pack of secondary literature will be provided.

For context, students are encouraged to read earlier collections by Duhig, Jackson, Lee-Houghton, Smith, and Young. (Howe's book is her debut.)

 

Admission requirements This seminar is for BA students on the advanced level: for BA05 students those who have completed their proseminar paper in Literary & Cultural Studies; for BA13 students those who have completed ALL three introductory modules (including the proseminar papers).
