Lecturers Mariela Elena Jaffé (mariela.jaffe@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content In this workshop, we focus on the process of preparing research articles and doctoral theses. We do not discuss issues related to text quality but talk about getting started, keeping momentum, and finishing in time.

Programme:
• stages in the writing process: (1) collect ideas and information, (2) develop text structure, (3) write draft, (4) revise
• working techniques and software tools for the different stages
• setting and achieving writing targets
• productive writing habits
• writing in teams

Methods:
Participants test various techniques, become acquainted with software tools and develop strategies for productive scientific writing. Short lectures provide tips and stimulate participants to reflect about their own writing habits. Exercises help to collect first-hand experiences. In addition, participants exchange recommendations in the group.
