Content This course offers an introduction to the study of literature. Details will be announced at the beginning of term.
Learning objectives Students will acquire the methodological tools necessary for the analysis of literary texts. The course will focus on the three main genres of literature (poetry, prose, and drama) and introduce students to important periods in literary history (from Early Modern to the present). In addition, students will become acquainted with the basics of film analysis. They will also learn how to conduct research and how to engage in academic discourse.

The specified editions of books will be available for purchase from 'Labyrinth' (Nadelberg 17) and should be purchased during the first week of classes. All further texts will be made available on ADAM and the film will be screened during the semester.

Course application Please enroll in your preferred section via Doodle: Make sure you write your full name (first & last name) to avoid confusion, though you will also be asked to input your email address. As places are limited for each section, you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure your preferred time slot. Note: Once a section is fully booked, you will need to sign up for one of the alternative sections. Please also note that the attendance list for the section will be based on the Doodle (and not Online Services/MOnA). Online registration will be open as of August 1.

Please ensure that you have only registered for ONE of the parallel sections. Students registered for more than one section will be assigned to one of the sections by the instructors on September 13.
