Content 1. Introduction to Quantum Transport
2. Boltzmann Transport Theory (diffusive transport)
3. Landauer Büttiker Theory (ballistic transport, quantum point contact, Hall effec...)
4. Quantum Interference Effects (coherent transport)
5. Single-Electron Effects (Coulomb blockade in metalic nanosystems)
6. Noise and Fluctuations in general

7. Graphene and Other Novel Materials (e.g. topological insulators

Further Topics that are considered for QT2 are:

Tunneling Spectroscopy / Mesoscopic Superconductivity / Physical Qbits / High-Frequency Techniques / Cavity-QED and Circuit QED / Mesoscopic Magnetism / Special Approaches and Novel Materials to explore Quantum Physics (e.g. core-shell nanowires, heteroepitaxy ...)
Learning objectives Understand the basic physics of (quantum coherent) electron transport in nano-scaled devices, and be able to understand cutting-edge experiments in this field that are done today.
