64032-01 - Practical course: Reading Romantics and Victorians 3 CP

Content This reading course is designed to complement the survey lecture "Romantics and Victorians" (21764), and the focus will be on reading primary literature and obtaining an in-depth view of 19th century British culture. We will discuss the texts, mainly poetry and novels and some non-fiction, and situate them in their cultural context. (N.B.: The reading load in this course is heavy; students are advised to start reading the novels during the vacation.)
Learning objectives In this reading course, designed to complement the survey lecture, students will read and discuss full texts and immerse themselves in 19th-century British culture.
