| Content | This course offers an introduction to English-language drama, including an overview of its main texts and genres. In addition, the course introduces students to writing academic papers. |
| Learning objectives | The course will introduce students to theater and drama in the English language and offer basic tools for the analysis of dramatic texts and writing literary essays. By the end of the course, students should be able to write an academic paper on a play of their choice. |
| Bibliography | Students will read a selection of plays as well as a selection of other texts. Shakespeare's "Macbeth" needs to be purchased and read by week 2, the other plays will be announced in the first week. Students are required to purchase the plays. Other mandatory readings will be made available online. |
