Content Papyri found in Egypt provide an unrivalled source of knowledge on ancient Greek Literature since they bear texts that would otherwise be lost, not having been transmitted by medieval sources. This course will explore the benefice of finding these previously lost texts or variants by reading them in their original ancient Greek version. It will illustrate the interest of looking at material aspects of papyri to catch a glimpse on how literature was copied, disseminate and used in Graeco-Roman Egypt. The course will use digital resources and include visit(s) to look at original papyri.
