| Content | Revision and remedial focus on key problematic issues in English. The course first considers smaller units of language: prepositions, articles, nouns etc. We then move to consider larger grammatical structures: tenses, clause structures, connectors etc. |
| Learning objectives | To revise core grammar; extend grammar skills in English; raise awareness of strategies to deal with grammar problems. |
| Bibliography | Obligatory requirement for the course is Hewings, Martin (2005) 2nd edition "Advanced Grammar in Use (with answers)". Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. The book is available in the 'Labyrinth' bookshop, where you get 10% discount against student ID. Optionally, you may get the book with extra CD exercises, though we will not use these in class. The CD runs on Windows platforms only. |
