Content This lecture course offers a survey of „US-American Texts after 2000“ as they emerge out of postmodernist metafiction and move into a specific writing after 9/11. Subcategories will entail the following areas: 1: After postmodernism: writing between fact and fiction;
2: 9/11 and its aftermath;
3: History/family histories retold;
4: US-American moodscapes;
5: Transgression and hybridity.

Authors discussed will include, among others: Atwood, Auster, Brooks, Cunningham, Easton Ellis, Eugenides, Foer, Ford, Franzen, Lethem, McInerney, O’Neill, Powers, Roth, Updike, Whitehead.
Bibliography Texts will be available on the EVA-Server.
