Content | This semester course is part of a compulsory one year course (module). It offers an introduction to the study of English Literature and Culture. Details will be announced in the course at the beginning of the semester. |
Learning objectives | The students get into contact with English literature and culture. They are introduced to some basic theoretical tools for the study of literature by concentrating on one genre, and they begin to practise an academic style of writing in short texts. |

Texts must be bought before the beginning of the semester. They are available from the 'Labyrinth' bookshop in Nadelberg 17. Additional reading material will be made available as master copies. |
Admission requirements | Open to 1st semester students. No preparation required. |
Course application | Students are required to enter their name and e-mail address on one of the four group lists which will be put up at the department (2nd floor, entrance hall) one week before the beginning of the semester. Places per group are limited. |
