| Content | Analysis of natural variations in the genome structure (polymorphisms) is gaining importance in the identification of human disorders, diagnosis and development individual therapies. In the context of this practical course we introduce the methods used for detection and evaluation of genetic polymorphisms in a population. These includes sample collection, DNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and gel electrophoresis. |

| Comments | Attendance is required on all days. Maximale Anzahl Studierende: 30. Auswahlkriterien bei Überbelegung: 1. Vertiefungsrichtung KPN (StO15) 2. Major Health & Interventions (StO24) 3. Ergänzungsmodul Health and Interventions (StO24) 4. Danach entscheidet das Los Grundsätzlich gilt: Anzahl Studiensemester (niedrig vor hoch). |

| Assessment details | In dieser Veranstaltung können Studierende, die in der StO15 eingeschrieben sind, eine Note im Modul Theorie erwerben. Hierfür ist eine zusätzliche schriftliche Leistung erforderlich, die benotet und bei einer Bewertung von >4.0 mit 2 KP via Services erfasst wird. ACHTUNG: Die zusätzliche Seminarleistung wird in der neuen StO24 ab HS24 nicht mehr angeboten. Studierende der StO24 können somit keine Note und keine zusätzlichen KP via Zusatzleistung erwerben. |
