| Content | Contenu du cours : Le texte n’est pas une donnée stable, mais en bonne partie une construction. Sa lecture est d’abord conditionnée par le support matériel dans lequel il s’inscrit, et on ne lira pas, par exemple, de la même manière un texte vierge et le même texte accompagné d’une image ou bien encore d’un apparat critique. Son sens évolue aussi au gré des pièces qui le précèdent ou le suivent (ce que les linguistes appellent co-texte), au gré des modifications que peut opérer l’écrivain, comme au gré du temps qui voit de nouvelles interprétations advenir, ou devenir caduques. Le séminaire s’attachera à préciser les mécanismes qui interviennent dans cette construction de la signification à partir d’exemples variés, de genres différents, pris pour la plupart dans la littérature française de la Renaissance (Clément Marot, Maurice Scève, Du Bellay, Rabelais, La Boétie, Montaigne). Il ne s'interdira pas toutefois de regarder en aval, s'intéressant notamment à la manière dont les siècles ultérieurs lisent avec des lunettes bien particulières la Renaissance et certains de ses textes. |
