Content | The course provides an introduction into the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods of 1980 (CISG or - in German - UN-Kaufrecht). This Convention is currently in force in 88 States throughout the world (among them Switzerland), and its rules potentially apply to more than 80% of cross-border sales world-wide. During the course, the students learn about the applicability of the Convention and its rules on contract formation as well as the rights and obligations of buyers and sellers. The course includes case studies based on CISG cases decided by Swiss and foreign courts as well as contract drafting exercises. |
