Content This is the core course on the methods used in epidemiological research, with the main focus on applications in infectious disease epidemiology, and on the health problems of the non-industrialised world. The course focuses on the definition and meaning of risk factors, the measurement of health status, and the design of studies to relate the two. The course assumes some background in epidemiology, either from BSc studies and/or from the Concepts in Epidemiology course. In addition to lectures, the students carry out both short practical exercises and extended (2 week) small projects.
