53982-01 - Colloquium: Presentation of Results of MSD Master’s Thesis 1 CP

Content Within the study program of MSD 2017, students have to register 3 times in a 'master's thesis colloquium'. This colloquium is the third and last one (= Colloquium C). The participants present the results of their master's theses. They prepare their presentations in a way that is accessible to an interdisciplinary audience, focus on the relation of their research questions to sustainable development and the fit between these questions and the results of their theses.
Learning objectives The students learn
- to present research questions and a research results to an interdisciplinary audience;
- to place their research questions in an appropriate sustainability context;
- to discuss research questions and results from other disciplines;
- to provide constructive feedback to their fellow students.

Meeting 1: 18.03.19: 02.15 to 06 pm, Vesalianum, seminar room 02.02
Meeting 2: 15.04.19: 02.15 to aprox. 7 pm (depends on the nr. of presentations; Kollegienhaus, lecture hall 119);
Meeting 3: 03.06.19: 09.15 am to aprox. 6 pm (depends on the nr. of presentations; Kollegienhaus, lecture hall 119); breaks according to announcements.

This course is offered by MSD. Prof. Dr. Patricia Holm, Paul Burger and Frank Krysiak (lead). They are heading the MSD teaching committee.

 

Admission requirements Only for students of the MSD 2017 who have to present the results of their master's theses.
The theses have to be completed at least up to 80% or may have been submitted already prior to the final presentation.
Course application Students have to register for a presentation on doodle. Those who have not received the doodle link by email (sent by the coordination office MSD at latest at the beginning of February 2019) ask for the link sending an email to: coordintion-msd@unibas.ch.
Registration on MOnA remains mandatory.
