55287-01 - Proseminar: From Alexander to Augustus: Graeco-Roman Asia Minor 3 CP

Content Starting from the conquest of Alexander the Great and ending in the reign of Nero, this course will explore the history and political developments of Asia Minor during the Hellenistic and Early Roman periods. We will look at historical, epigraphic, numismatic, and documentary sources in order to explore the changes and continuities that occurred during the first century BCE in this region, with a particular focus on the cities on the Attalid and Seleukid kingdoms.

Comments In der ersten Vorlesungswoche finden gemeinsame Einführungsveranstaltungen für all diejenigen statt, die im Herbstsemester 2019 ein Studium der Altertumswissenschaften aufnehmen. Die Einführungsproseminare der einzelnen Fachbereiche beginnen aus Rücksicht auf diese allgemeine Einführung erst in der zweiten Semesterwoche. Die Zeiten der Proseminare dienen dafür in der ersten Woche dem obligatorischen Besuch der Einführungsveranstaltungen, welcher verteilt auf die vier Tage (17., 18., 19. und 20.09.) in einzelnen Blöcken absolviert werden kann.
