| Content | This workshop introduces students to the alternative ways of representing and collecting ethnographic knowledge. The first day discusses the limitations of text, the possibilities of drawings, photography and audio. The second day continues to the world of ethnographic filmmaking and concludes with a practical task with camera phones. Throughout the workshop the students will discuss a variety of examples, historic and contemporary, of how ethnographic knowledge is collected and displayed in multimedia formats. |
| Learning objectives | Establish a firm understanding of the potential of alternative formats in the representation of academic ethnographic knowledge. |
| Admission requirements | Das Grundstudium muss abgeschlossen sein. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist aus Gründen der Qualitätssicherung der Lehre auf 25 beschränkt. Die Teilnehmenden werden nach Fachrichtung, Studiengang und in der Reihenfolge ihrer Anmeldung auf die Liste gesetzt. Wer im Rahmen von Auslandaufenthalten und von Austauschprogrammen in Basel studiert wird unabhängig vom Listenplatz immer aufgenommen. |
