Content -Visit and analyse some of the foundational texts that established the sociology of health and illness as a field
- Gain an understanding of the ways in which this sociology has seized hold of African situations
- Foreground questions pertaining to the (co)-existence of bio-medicine with other forms/conceptions of medicine and their status thereof
- Foreground questions pertaining to race/gender in relation to health and reconnect them to the wider debates on healthcare within Africa in and out of the Continent
