Content This is a conference taking place at the English Seminar on 26-28 June, 2020. Students are invited to attend and take advantage of the presentations on persuasion by the leading scholars in the field. For more information, please see https://persuasion-conference.philhist.unibas.ch/en/home/
As an additional option, MA students are strongly recommended to also take the research seminar on "Pragmatics and genres of persuasive language in English" (57155-01) for hands-on engagement with the theoretical background and recent empirical findings.
Learning objectives 1) Students will be exposed to state-of-the-art research on persuasion
2) Students will get experience attending an academic conference
Bibliography Preparatory texts and general background information will be made available on ADAM.
