Content | During this one-day workshop we will look at rivers in Southern Africa from several angles. From a multidisciplinary perspective our aim is to 1. cover the histories and politics of water distribution, 2. explore the role of rivers as transport systems and 3. ‘read rivers’ in the context of the Anthropocene and politics of climate change. Finally, at the level of research conducted on rivers in Southern Africa, will we 4. account for the ways in which scientific practice is conducted on river landscapes. |
