Learning objectives Students taking this course will become experts in the history, aesthetics, and politics of punk. Methodological emphasis will be on cultural studies approaches to questions of race, class, and gender, with a particular focus on subculture studies. In addition, students will become conversant in debates concerning genre. Finally, they will acquire the skills to organize a (sub)cultural event.
Bibliography All relevant materials will be made available on ADAM. In addition, we will watch several documentaries together (exact dates tba).

Admission requirements This seminar is for BA students on the advanced level who have completed ALL three introductory modules (including the proseminar papers).
