21484-01 - Lecture: Einführung in die Plasmaphysik 2 CP

Semester fall semester 2020
Course frequency Irregular
Lecturers Kai Hencken (k.hencken@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content What is a plasma! The lecture looks at fundamental physical processes and phenomena dealing with the description of a plasma and plasma specific phenomena at different level of complexity. Starting from single particle motion the description starts to include the effect of electric and magnetic fields and finally to a hydrodynamic equation. Phenomena occuring at the volume and on surfaces are derived from this. Their importance for practical plasm application is discussed then.
Bibliography will be given in the lecture
Comments lecture is planned to be done in a mixture of prerecorded presentations using slides together with a more interactive part during the online lecture itself.
The interactive part will take part during the allocated lecture time via zoom and requires at least to usage of a microphone.
