| Content | Students will learn how to write effective papers in their field. Students will work on regular writing tasks and receive input from both the lecturer and from peers in class as well. This is a hands-on course, so it is important to have a laptop computer all the time for classroom writing tasks. |
| Learning objectives | Students will learn how to write about their research in effective ways for specific purposes. |
| Bibliography | Some PDFs will be provided by the lecturer. We will also use Writing Science in Plain English by Anne Greene (University of Chicago Press, 2013). For students who did not take CS 304: Scientific Writing at the University of Basel, then Writing for Computer Science by Justin Zobel (Springer, 2014, 3rd edition) is highly recommended reading as well. |
| Comments | All lectures, readings, classes, and tasks are in English. Students are expected to already have B2 level English or above to get the most out of the course. |
