| Content | Contract theory deals with the design of economic institutions that are aimed at solving incentive and information problems. The lecture provides an introduction to moral hazard models and to the theory of mechanism design. |
| Learning objectives | The students know important concepts and results of the theory of moral hazard and mechanism design, and they are prepared to independently study the vast literature in economics that makes use of these concepts. |

| Assessment details | written exam: 09.06.21; 15:00-16:30. The retreat will take place at Basel Exhibition Center (Messe Basel). In case COVID-19 protective measures prevent examination on site, the faculty reserves the right to conduct the examination electronically during the same time slot. You will receive details of the on-site examinations (Exhibition Center or WWZ) by email approximately one week before the examination date. |
