57404-01 - Seminar: Behavioral Corporate Finance 6 CP

Content Behavioral corporate finance takes two distinct approaches. The first emphasizes that investors are less than fully rational. It views managerial financing and investing decisions as rational responses to securities market mispricing. The second approach emphasizes that managers are less than fully rational. It studies the effect of nonstandard preferences and biases on managerial decisions. This seminar offers the students the chance to dive deep into the theory, empirical challenges, current evidence, and open problems pertaining to each approach in behavioural corporate finance. Students will be asked to formulate a research question and address it in the form of a seminar paper and presentation.
Learning objectives The objective of this course is to introduce the principles and concepts of behavioral economics as applied to corporate finance. Students will be asked to form a research question and address this question in the form of a paper and presentation.

Admission requirements Completed Bachelor in Business and Economics.
