| Content | This course will cover principles of study design, for both observational and interventional studies, and will introduce the concepts of sampling distribution and bootstrapping, hypothesis testing, types of error, power analysis and sample size determination. |
| Learning objectives | Identify and describe the characteristics of the most common study designs. Calculate required sample sizes for one- and two-sample statistical tests within common study designs, and for different types of response variables. |
| Bibliography | The course will not follow a specific textbook, but we will provide slides and references as appropriate for each lecture. |
| Admission requirements | Some basic knowledge of R and RStudio is expected. |
