60895-01 - Block course: Data Analysis - Modelling and Interpretation 2 CP

Content This course will introduce students to model based statistical inference, with a particular focus on linear and logistic regressions for modelling continuous and binary outcomes respectively. Practical case studies will illustrate how to estimate the model parameters with the R statistical software, and how to interpret the results.
Learning objectives Choose a suitable statistical model to study the relationship between a given outcome and one or more covariates; fit the model in R; provide a valid interpretation of the estimates of the model parameters
Bibliography The course will not follow a specific textbook, but we will provide slides and references as appropriate for each lecture.

 

Admission requirements Some basic knowledge of R and RStudio is expected.
