Learning objectives Evolutionary genetics covers three important areas of modern evolutionary genetics: bioinformatics, molecular evolution and population genetics. Treating these three areas together in a single course provides an integrated education in evolutionary genetics. A solid understanding of these areas is also central to other biological fields such as conservation biology or behavioural and evolutionary ecology. The course includes lectures and exercises. In the lectures, concepts and methods are discussed using research examples. The exercises will help to better understand the theoretical aspects and to gain practical experience.
