Content The lectures with a focus on non-communicable diseases cover a) the nature and origin of input data for the global burden of disease and risk factors estimates including the relevance of prospective cohort and of disease and death registration; b) the basics of molecular epidemiology including biomarkers; genetic and genomic epidemiology; biobanking; exposome; clinical utility of biomarkers and screening towards personalized health and precision prevention; and c) the application of evidence towards risk and health impact assessment. This lecture will be introductory in nature.
Learning objectives To understand research instruments and methods of modern non-communicable disease epidemiology and related public health policy.
