63550-01 - Colloquium: Sozialforschung und Methodologie 2 CP

Content The colloquium presents contemporary studies on the relevance for the social and related sciences. We will present theoretical, qualitative, and quantitative studies, and we will endeavor to also feature new methodological approaches. We focus on studies relating to local and global social structures, change, and transitions relating to the individual and society. Speakers are invited to demystify the research process by presenting research in process, "warts and all".
Learning objectives Participants will
- expand their competences in assessing scientific work and research
- learn how to critique scientific work constructively
- be exposed to multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research
- expand their knowledge horizon about empirical social research
- be encouraged to take more risks in developing a research design and research agenda
