64295-01 - Colloquium: Sozialforschung und Methodologie 2 CP

Content The colloquium presents contemporary studies from the social and related sciences We will feature research employing classical methods, including interview, focus group, and survey research, and less established methods, such as performative and transdisciplinary research. An important element of the colloquium is to present constraints and creative solutions within the research process. Participants will be exposed to research that is unfinished. Presenters will introduce their projects at various stages of the research process, from conceptualization to how to present research findings. Participants will be exposed to different choices that need to be made during the research process, and to think through the consequences of these choices. The overarching intention of this colloquium is to demystify the research process and to inspire participants to think more creatively about research.
Learning objectives Participants will
- Expand their competences in assessing scientific argumentation and research
- Learn how to critique research constructively
- Be exposed to multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research
- Expand their social research horizon
