Philip Bentley (philip.bentley@unibas.ch)
Alex Odermatt (alex.odermatt@unibas.ch, Assessor) |
Content | The major themes of the course are bioanalytical method development and validation, drug disposition and biotransformation, and the use of radioisotopes in generating this information, pharmacokinetics, pharmacokinetic modelling and drug-drug interactions. |
Learning objectives | The course demonstrates the characterization of drug disposition within the drug discovery and development process and illustrates how the information is used for drug candidate selection and eventually product registration. It provides an understanding of how data generated in in vitro and animals studies is used to predict the disposition of a drug candidate in humans, including the therapeutic dose and potential drug-drug interactions, and demonstrates how pharmacokinetic models are refined once human data is available. |
